WADE & MACLOSKEY

My Father’s maternal line. The Wade family came from Dublin. The photo, found among a descendant’s papers, is thought to be of the earliest known, Robert Wentworth Wade born about 1765. The Gibbons family has not been positively identified.

The Macloskeys are thought to have come from Rostrevor County Antrim in Ireland, but moved to Greenock in Scotland for the birth of all but the last of their 14 children. The father John is believed to have been a successful merchant tailor.
